The Goodguys 14th Meguiar’s Del Mar Nationals is here! Southern California’s largest hot rod and custom car festival takes place April 4 and 5 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and will feature over 2,500 hot rods, customs, classics, street rods, muscle cars and trick trucks through 1972 vintage.  The nation’s top 1949 and older rods will compete for the Street Rod d’Elegance award signifying the event’s top car. In addition to the car show, the festival will include vendor exhibits, a swap meet and cars-for-sale area, special “themed” parking areas, Goodguys Autocross (to test vehicle agility and performance), model car show, free kids entertainment, a “Nitro Thunderfest” (featuring vintage top fuel dragsters), and lots of fun for the entire family!

Hot Rod designer and Discovery Channel star Chip Foose of Overhaulin’ will be at the event Saturday to meet with fans, sign autographs and select the Chip Foose Design award. Also new this year is the Hot Rodder’s of Tomorrow Engine Challenge. The Hot Rodder’s of Tomorrow Engine Challenge is a competition based youth platform where high school and tech center students compete in six-man teams to see who can tear down then build back up small block Chevy V-8 engines the fastest. It’s a flurry of mechanical mayhem that must be seen to be fully appreciated.

Adult admission is$18, and admission for kids ages 7 – 12 is $6. Tickets for kids ages 6 and under are free. The Fairgrounds parking is $10.
